Introducing: INF Club Masterminds...

• 3 min read

Hi everyone,

So this feels like one of the most important newsletters I've sent to date...

I am so pleased to formally introduce you to INF Club's Mastermind programme.

In early 2016, I was working on my very first business - Thriva - shortly after taking a career-changers' course and realising that doing "my own thing" was the way I wanted to go.

I'd come across this concept of 'Mastermind groups' online (thanks to an awesome blog/website called Live Your Legend), and I connected some dots and realised that this was exactly the sort of support I was needing.

At the time, I had just a couple of days of university lectures each month. I was studying a (supposedly!) full-time Masters with a lot of time on my hands, and an itch to start something.

But I knew very few others who were also trying to do "their own thing". To be honest, it all felt pretty scary, overwhelming, and lonely.

However, I had slowly been putting the feelers out and (re)connecting with others who were also disillusioned with corporate life. There was Josh, who connected with me after I wrote a post on LinkedIn. Josh studied did his thesis on entrepreneurship, and he'd had his own business before. Then there was Ioan who I saw was doing freelance film-making stuff, and Ben who was working on a fashion app.

Interestingly, Ioan and Ben were actually in my year at high school (what we call secondary school here in the UK), yet I'd hardly known them back them. Thinking about it, they were both the creative, nerdy kinds - just like me. And that was the reason I reached out to them, years after leaving school... I realised that they were my kinda people as adults, too, and were trying to live and work in a way more aligned with who they were - again, just like me.

We started meeting in-person every few weeks (around once a month). I later got excited and invited others to the group, and at one point there were 7 of us (Al, Louise & Harry were the other additions I managed to roped in)...

A blast from the past...

That group was my saving grace away from my Masters, as I felt like I was part of an intimaste group that really got me. Not only that, but we'd meet up and discuss what we were working on, any challenges that we were having, and got useful feedback - as well as just the acceptance and "knowing" that none of us really knew what we were doing, and we were just trying to figure this whole business thing out. Over the course of these meetups, we'd talk about business, life, and everything in between.

I am still in a mastermind group to this day, and we meet on Zoom. Each mastermind group I've been in - aside from that first one - has met online over video. The last group I was in lasted over a year and we were spread across 3 countries in 2 continents. This is the magic of the internet :)

I've personally set up each of the masterminds I've been a part of, and I've also set them up for others inside two different communities. One of those communities is right here at INF Club, when I ran a Mastermind pilot programme last year with some members. It went really well, I got some amazing feedback (I'll share this with you later in the week); in fact, there are groups from that pilot programme that continue to meet to this day.

Over time, I have discovered that mastermind groups don't have to be "business"-related, but they are also great for those working on a creative project, a course, or even a hobby. Perhaps you've been meaning to start something for a while, or maybe you have been working on something but things have gone a little... flat?

Wherever you are "at" right now, an INF Club Mastermind group can help give you the helpful support and encouragement you need to move forward. And in the warm company of other INFs and intuitives, who are just like you.

So, whether you're not currently working on anything at all (it still feels like a weird time in the world, doesn't it?), or if you have a fully-fledged "thing" that you're working on, the Mastermind programme is designed for you.

Stay tuned for my next email later in the week, where I'll be sharing more details around the programme and registration.

I'm more than happy to answer any questions you might have in the meantime, so do feel free to reply to this email if you have any.

I'll see you soon,

Jas
